The Volunteer and Food Distribution Coordinator will assist CFTT in several ways but will focus on organizing and communicating with volunteers who perform critical tasks such as planting, cultivating, and harvesting crops. Through participating in a mixture of on-farm duties and organizational responsibilities, this position will provide an introduction to sustainable agriculture, challenges posed by food insecurity and the unique challenges and rewards of non-profit service. This position will require a mixture of communication, organizational and physical work and will provide many opportunities for interaction with our local community.

Service Activities

● Communicate with CFTT volunteers through emails, VIA Chaffee online portal, and phone calls.
● Communicate with local distribution partners to coordinate produce pickups and deliveries
● Assist with making social media posts and taking photographs for record keeping/reports.
● Help to coordinate work-days with local student groups
● Represent CFTT in a positive and professional manner to our volunteers and our community
● Assist Farm Manager and volunteers with planting, irrigating, and harvesting produce on our farm.

Community Need Addressed

Colorado Farm to Table grows fresh produce for donation to food pantries and soup kitchens to serve Coloradans who are experiencing food insecurity. Although we have a small staff, we have a team of 100+ volunteers who assist us in planting, weeding, irrigating, and harvesting our vegetable crops. Since 2005, our team has donated over 2 million pounds of fresh produce to Coloradans who are experiencing food insecurity.

Position Outcomes

Organization and communication with the 100+ yearly volunteers who engage with Colorado Farm to Table. Position will also address food insecurity by a mixture of farm duties and interaction with underserved community members.The o
