  • About Us
    Fostering Healthy Communities:
In response to the charge from our foundresses before us, we have developed and carried on thousands of community health programs. Over the years, those programs have blessed us with the opportunity to walk with those who need us and help us improve the circumstances of so many by working with them to address their most pressing health needs. Our extensive programming focuses on infant mortality, substance abuse, healthy living and eating, cancer, grieving and other prevalent health needs.
We’re called to care for people who are poor and under-served. That's why in 2017, Mercy Health invested $383 million in community benefit unto the communities where we provide care.
  • Our Impact
Substance Abuse Treatment- Reaching out to recapture lives through Mercy Serves, a new AmeriCorps-Mercy Health partnership.
Ohio leads the nation in opiate abuse. In 2015, the unintentional drug overdose rate in Ohio was twice that of the U.S. average with over 700 million doses of opioids prescribed. Through federal grant money, a new method for screening has been rolled out in several of our hospitals to help identify those at risk for substance abuse. Individuals are assessed for drug and alcohol use, if they're determined to be at risk, addiction navigators talk to individuals about usage and treatment is arranged.
