The Martha O'Bryan Center youth development program for elementary and middle school students is designed to support the whole child—academically, socially, and emotionally. In addition to this support, students develop their interests and passion through the arts, recreation, and experiential learning opportunities in Nashville and beyond.

Service Activities

• Assist K-8 Leadership Team in curriculum creation, organization, and implementation
• Coordinate with Site Coordinator on student recruitment and engagement strategies
• Build relationships with a small cohort of students
• Provide hands-on academic assistance to students daily
• Provide complementary homework help and foundational support daily
• Help each student achieve success by encouraging students to reach individual goals
• Provide enrichment activities for students based on member’s individual gifts and talents
• Plan and execute quarterly parent meetings
• Sustain effective partnerships with community organizations
• Assist Site Coordinators in preparation for upcoming week’s programming
• Create enrichment lesson plans for activities
• Utilize programming information to check attendance and communicate with parents
• Inventory and organize program materials
• Assist with childcare during parent events
• Employ databases to assist programming and grant reporting (NAZA, LEAPS, 21st CCLC, ELAP, SalesForce)
• Collect and utilize data to inform programming
• Participate in AmeriCorps professional development and community-building workshops

Housing allowance of $500/month; housing placement with discounted rates (subject to availability). Health insurance reimbursed up to $160/month. Cell phone bill reimbursed up to $25/month.
