The AmeriCorps Employment Specialist will support the employment team in their efforts to provide opportunity for economic mobility through career advancement and educational attainment.

Service Activities

• Support community members and clients in their search for employment opportunities
• Facilitate workshops and programs related to employment, including but not limited to interview skills training, soft skills training, financial literacy, and resume building and creation
• Develop media related to financial literacy, utilizing the Money Mindset curriculum
• Document client interactions and outreach efforts in Microsoft Suite and Salesforce database
• Assist employment services staff in outreach to potential employers in Middle Tennessee
• Collaborate with both Adult Education and Employment teams to promote educational advancement and economic mobility
• Provide one-on-one support for digital literacy, including internet navigation, email creation and communication, and general computer skills
• Participate in AmeriCorps professional development and community-building workshops

Lack of employment connections and opportunity within the James A. Cayce homes, an income-based housing community.

Housing allowance of $500/month; housing placement with discounted rates (subject to availability). Health insurance reimbursed up to $160/month. Cell phone bill reimbursed up to $25/month.
