The Basic Needs Assistant will assist with intake and exiting processes. In addition to providing clothing and other basic needs items for guests. The member will assist in coordinating delivery of those needed items to the guests.

Service Activities

Assist individuals with the intake process and communicate intake information. Manage paperwork, distribute welcome bags, facilitate move-ins and conduct facility tours. Participate in direct street outreach (e.g. intake information, referrals, supply bags, direct transport and referral to Lotus House). Distribute supply bags; toiletries, baby supplies, feminine hygiene products and more. Distribute guest communications, ranging from appointment reminders, overall shelter and events information. Provide clothing, shoes, and other items.

Position Outcomes

Individuals will report improved skills and knowledge to successfully live independently. In addition, individuals will exit to a positive housing destination, including section 8 housing, permanent supportive housing programs, independent housing and reunification with families.
