Beginning in early 2015, Oakhurst Outreach, Inc. opened its doors and has committed itself to providing safe, clean, and comfortable transitional housing for women who have suffered from and are now recovering from the ravages of alcohol and/or drug addiction. Oakhurst provides teaching of various and specific skill sets to aid in securing employment and also requires participation in local 12-step programs to promote drug free independent living.
Oakhurst’s commitment extends to working in an atmosphere of mutual respect and openness among board members, staff, participating groups, and any persons who benefit from our services. The organization focuses on creating an environment which respects the uniqueness of expression of the people of West Virginia and fosters self-determination and community responsibility. Oakhurst continues to cooperate with other individuals and organizations who share a similar mission while developing partnerships between community groups so we can assist each other in accomplishing our mutual goals.
The main goals of Oakhurst Outreach, Inc. include:

• Promoting a drug free lifestyle
• Providing educational opportunities and job skill training to program participants
• Assist in the transition to independent living
