As a member of the Summer Wellness, you will volunteer with High Rocks Educational Corporation for an intensive summer of service striving to educate, empower, and inspire young people in West Virginia.

You will not only have a chance to make a positive impact on our WV communities and young people, but the opportunity to grow professionally and personally through our AmeriCorps leadership development trainings. You will be given the opportunity to prepare and serve delicious camp meals, mentor students, help in the garden, source local foods for meals, attend summer camps, and much more!

Service Activities

Community Need Addressed

A disproportionate number of the youth we work with in our communities suffer from diet-related health problems
such as obesity. Families with limited income often lack access to fresh, nutritious foods because of limits on
time, transportation and information.

Position Outcomes

Increase opportunities to access nutrition education and activities, increase mentoring opportunities, increase the amount of locally sourced nutritious ingredients for meals
