Summer AmeriCorps members will build developmental assets within youth during the summer months, through summer school activities, day camps, reading programs, youth county fair activities and other youth focused summer events.

Service Activities

Plan and lead youth day camps, coordinate youth activities at county fairs, connect with other community based organizations who provide youth activities during the summer months, and recruit volunteers to help with their efforts.

Community Need Addressed

Summer AmeriCorps member positions will provide summer youth programming and enrichment activities for youth.

Position Outcomes

Youth served during the summer months will show an increased possession of developmental assets, an increase in school engagement, academic motivation, an increased liklihood of graduating from high school, and growing up to be engaged citizens/successful adults and live rewarding lives.
