The Grinnell AmeriCorps Partnership has two Facilitator positions available:

1. The Summer Learning Facilitator will help address the summer learning loss issue by leading the Summer Learning area of the Campaign for Grade Level Reading. The Facilitator will build on the planning and programs developed in the first years of the Grinnell AmeriCorps Partnership, continuing day-to-day support and facilitation of the summer learning initiative.

2. The Skills Gap Facilitator will address the full range of skills high school students need to succeed in the workplace by building on the planning and programs developed in the first years of the Grinnell AmeriCorps Partnership, continuing day-to-day support and facilitation of the skills gap initiative.

Service Activities

Convene a regular advisory group comprised of community stakeholders
Build upon existing action plans
Implement one or more collaborative project as identified in the planning process
Collaborate with the Volunteer Engagement Coordinator to recruit volunteers for AmeriCorps events
Record & log the number and hours of episodic and ongoing volunteers
Consult with host site supervisors to track project progress
Establishing/refining project goals
Create a budget, a timeline, organize volunteers, align partners, and perform overall project management.
Attending community meetings and AmeriCorps required trainings
Assisting with the coordinating of the AmeriCorps required Days of Service
Serve as the community spokesperson for the Facilitator focus area of the Grinnell Education Partnership

Community Need Addressed

The Grinnell AmeriCorps Partnership has two Facilitator positions available:

The Summer Learning Facilitator will help address this issue by leading the Summer Learning area of the Campaign for Grade Level Reading. The Facilitator will build on the planning and programs developed in the first years of the Grinnell AmeriCorps Partnership, continuing day-to-day support and facilitation of the summer learning initiative.

Position Outcomes

The Summer Learning and Skills Gap Facilitators will BUILD CAPACITY by helping community organizations collaborate more effectively with each other and with the school district to better align resources so 100% of the district’s K-4th grade students have health and nutrition support so they can come to school ready to learn.
