Crew Leaders oversee environmental restoration projects across the Puget Sound region. They coordinate with land management agencies, EarthCorps project managers, and Crew Members, ensuring safety, productivity, morale, and quality of work. Crew Leaders also provide training in the field and follow AmeriCorps policies.


Terms of Service:

Service period: January 15th, 2023 – November 22nd, 2023.

Compensation: Living stipend of $3,185/month (pre-tax) and a $340/month housing stipend.

Typical hours: Monday – Friday, 7:20 a.m. – 5:30 p.m., with alternating Mondays off and occasional Saturdays.

Status: Temporary, enrolled through AmeriCorps, requiring 1,700 hours of service and criminal history checks.

Benefits:

AmeriCorps education award up to $6,895 upon completing 1,700 hours.

Wilderness First Responder (WFR) training if needed.

Days off, holidays, and sick time as designated.

Subsidized ORCA Pass for bus transportation.

Service Activities

Responsibilities:

Lead and motivate young adult crews in service, restoration, and training.

Ensure crew safety, quality of work, and adherence to EarthCorps policies.

Coordinate with project managers, serve as on-site project leader, and maintain project records.

Implement various environmental restoration projects in the Puget Sound region.

Conduct trainings and presentations on tool use, safety, leadership, and community service.

Prepare reports, hold individual crew meetings, counsel and motivate corps members.

Countering the effects of colonization, resource extraction, and development, in suburban and rural settings; especially within communities which have felt the direct effects of climate change.
