Boys & Girls Clubs of Utah County is looking for more than 15 AmeriCorps Members to serve in schools and afterschool programs around Utah County in Highland, Orem, Provo, Springville, Spanish Fork, and Santaquin.
AmeriCorps is a national service opportunity, not a regular job. If you are selected for and accept the position you will sign an agreement, committing to the following:
A term of service from October, 2017 to May 25, 2018
Serving 15 hours per week with time off for fall break, Thanksgiving, winter break, and various holidays.
Receipt of a living stipend in the amount of $239.06, distributed bi-weekly ($478.13/month)
Upon successful completion of your service, you will receive an education award of $1538.36.
STEM AmeriCorps Specialists are responsible for leading STEM sessions with youth in schools.
Deliver informal STEM based activities to small groups of students in breakout sessions

Timpanogos Elementary (Provo): Monday-Friday: 2:30 PM – 5:30 PM
Provo Clubhouse*: Monday-Thursday: 3:00 PM – 6:00 PM, Friday 1:30 PM – 6:00 PM (*applicant must be 21 years old or older, and have a clean driving record)
Geneva Elementary (Orem): Monday: 1:30 PM – 5:30 PM, Tuesday-Friday: 2:30 PM-5:30 PM
Sharon Elementary (Orem): Monday: 1:30 PM – 5:30 PM, Tuesday-Friday: 2:30 PM – 5:30 PM
Freedom Elementary (Highland): Monday-Friday: 12:00 PM – 3:00 PM (one day per week until 4:30 PM, to be determined with school principal)
Park Elementary (Spanish Fork): Monday-Friday: 2:30 PM – 5:00 PM
Riverview Elementary (Spanish Fork): Monday-Friday: 2:30 PM – 5:00 PM
Canyon Elementary (Spanish Fork): Monday-Friday: 2:30 PM – 5:00 PM
Orchard Hills Elementary (Santaquin): Monday-Friday: 2:30 PM – 5:00 PM
Engage volunteers from STEM based businesses to provide STEM instruction to youth in schools.
Provide the communication, passion, and organization that this program will require to be successful.
Measure impact through student and teacher pre and post surveys
Attend monthly AmeriCorps trainings
Comply with all Boys & Girls Clubs of Utah County policies and procedures
Applicants must be at least 18 years of age, have some college experience, and meet the requirements set by the Corporation for National and Community Service—this is a great opportunity for current college students or for people looking to go back to school soon. Preference will be given to those with work or educational experience related to science, technology, engineering, and/or math.
