Wellness Center Coordinator

Bastion Community of Resilience

Service Position Summary:
Bastion, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, is an intentionally designed neighborhood in New Orleans for returning warriors and families. Through our powerful community model which incubates meaningful relationships that endure for a lifetime, we will sustain a thriving recovery from the wounds and casualties of war.

The Wellness Center will be the community gathering place at Bastion. It will be the hub for holistic programs and alternative therapeutic modalities such as art, music, yoga, meditation and massage. Also, available on site will be legal, vocational and benefits assistance, health and nutrition classes and direct access to community providers for medical and mental health needs. The Wellness Center Coordinator will directly assist in supporting and improving the physical, mental, and social well-being of the residents at Bastion by orienting them to life at Bastion, the supports available, and cultivating partnerships with on-site providers to ensure ample opportunities are available for residents to connect with needed resources. The Wellness Center Coordinator will also develop and facilitate health and nutrition classes and monthly meetings with residents.

DeltaCorps has determined that the probability of access to vulnerable populations is so great that all members will receive the three part NSCHC: NSOPR, FBI, and required state components (residence and state of service, as necessary).
