The Member will activate the project in collaboration with our executive director, ESD, school districts, employers, WorkSource, and GWATA to promote tech center awareness, sign up clients, develop office hours, and ensure compliance with their academic and secure system requirements.
Major duties, responsibilities, expectations: Provide direct services through technical assistance; assist clients in the use of computer hardware, software, printing, word processing, email, and distance learning; test and evaluate network systems; regular system maintenance.
To produce the desired outcomes, the Member will work on-site and remotely to assist clients with problem-solving, train users on how to use the equipment, and attend to hardware and software problems.
Our Community Technology Center goals/objectives include: Increase secondary and post-secondary education, job skills, employability, living wages; match skills to local jobs; provide affordable broadband access and equipment.

Service Activities

• Instruct users how to use equipment: computer hardware, software, printing, word processing, email, distance/remote learning;
• Assist high school students in computer CTE classes to achieve Microsoft and other certifications;
• Assist adult learners taking online courses in basic skills, soft skills, career pathway, and Bridge programs;
• Assist in person, via phone, or electronically;
• Test and evaluate network systems;
• Regular systems maintenance;
• Ensure compliance with academic and security system requirements;
• Plan and manage office hours with flex scheduling to accommodate adult learners,
• Promote tech center awareness,
• Register/sign up clients;

Community Need Addressed

The Projects address local needs for technology access, job skills development, business incubation, youth and adult career/technical education, English language acquisition, and tele-counseling services. We need additional skilled technical assistance and program support to assist clients and maintain equipment in the Technology Center.

Position Outcomes

To connect community members locally with an array of critical resources offered through our partner organizations. We formed in January 2015, after the Carlton Complex Fires devastated our region and amplified significant economic and health disparities that impacted mental/behavioral health and resilience.
