Service Impact: The American Red Cross prevents and alleviates human suffering in the face of emergencies by mobilizing the power of volunteers and the generosity of donors. The AmeriCorps Indiana Response and Preparedness (RAP) corps will provide disaster services and capacity building services to improve disaster cycle services-disaster preparedness, response and recovery.

AmeriCorps member will take a lead role in enhancing and expanding the recruitment and engagement of volunteers and coordinating training opportunities.

Community Need Addressed

ARC AmeriCorps members will serve as the "Indiana Response and Preparedness Corps" (RAP Corps) to help Indiana residents prevent, prepare for, and respond to disaster related emergencies.

Position Outcomes

AmeriCorps members will be crucial to more fully engage, train and lead a volunteer workforce responding to and preventing disasters, both large and small.
