Applicants have a choice of serving as a tutor or workshop facilitator.

Service Activities

Service Activities include one of the following: Tutoring adult learners in reading, writing and speaking english. Tutor adult learners to take and pass the GED or High School Equivalency testing; these subjects include math, science & reading comprehension. Facilitate family literacy workshops and support the teen summer program. Facilitate volunteer management workshops and outreaches.

Community Need Addressed

Members enrolled in Project MORE help address the education and economic needs of adult learners and their families as well as assist in increasing volunteer participation by facilitating volunteer management workshops for community based organizations.

Position Outcomes

The families and programs served by Project MORE members experience an increase in knowledge which helps them to reach their desired goals. Adult learners take and pass their high school equivalency testing, gain knowledge about financial resources and money management and increase their English speaking capabilities. The community based organizations that attend volunteer management workshops receive a hosts of tools and methods for effectively recruiting, placing, managing and assessing their volunteer activities.
