Make a difference in the lives of others and serve with AmeriCorps! The Home For Good Santa Barbara County AmeriCorps Partnership, a program of the United Way, is recruiting members for the 2019-2020 program year. The positions are considered "half-time", requiring approximately 9 - 20 hours/week of service. The position involves working directly with veterans and people experiencing homelessness.

Agencies we partner with focus on services dedicated to mental health, justice and legal involvement, shelter and housing, and meeting individuals' basic needs.

Members serve as a part of AmeriCorps which encompasses 75,000 members across the country each year. Members are assigned to one of a variety of non-profit and public agency partners in Santa Barbara County for their term of service.

We are seeking compassionate individuals who are interested in making a difference in the SB county community.
Candidates should have availability from September 3rd, 2019 until August 31, 2020.

We are holding interviews now.

Roles and Responsibilities of the member would include:
- Street Outreach
- Assisting clients in accessing resources and benefits including Medi-Cal and Medicare, housing applications, food banks, mental health services, etc.
- Ability to transport clients is highly preferred (mileage is reimbursed)

Benefits of Service:
- Monthly stipend: $375 - $750
- Education award at end of year: $1,615 - $3,050
