The AmeriCorps Member will help build the emerging field of Public Interest Design through organizing trainings, documenting exemplary projects, networking with other networks and organizations, and creating exemplary community-driven projects. The AmeriCorps Member will also be responsible for the following: - Development and coordinate of two community-based projects: (1) to house the unhoused and (2) to increase mobility and health for the blind through outside accessibility.

Service Activities

- Coordinate stakeholders and volunteers on projects.
- Act as the lead point of contact for projects’ stakeholders, providing information and other assistance. - Document exemplary community projects, developing educational content and provide ongoing maintenance of the SEED network website.
- Learn to find and coordinate funding to support Public Interest Design projects.

Community Need Addressed

There is a growing field of community-based service called Public Interest Design. Design Corps is playing a central role in the development of this new sector by building capacity through multiple scales and models.
