Support the YWCA Tri-County Area Equity and Racial Justice initiatives and support opportunities for advocacy in the Greater Pottstown area. The Racial and Gender Equity Associate works directly under the direct supervision of the Advocacy/Volunteer Manager and the Manager of Equity Initiatives. In cooperation with volunteers and staff. The Racial and Gender Equity Associate will provide advocacy, legislative analysis, coalition building and policy research around issues related to racial justice, equity initiatives, and support both education and program delivery around these initiatives.
The ideal candidate is detailed-oriented, highly organized, and comfortable with topics around equity and inclusion and is both informed and knowledgeable with current legislative policy and legislative language. Must be comfortable working independently and on a team. The candidate will support the Advocacy team with strategic planning, action plan delivery, policy research and practices. The candidate must have knowledge around data collection, as well as training/education prep in order, to achieve goals set for the advancement of racial equity and representation in the legislative sector. This is an excellent opportunity for an entry-level person with an interest in working in the non-profit sector to develop an understanding on how programs are supported to achieve an equity fighting mission.
