AmeriCorps VISTA – Learning Specialist
The Learning Specialist VISTA Member will focus on building capacity across Colorado Youth for a Change. VISTA Members will help implement an innovative approach to tracking and understanding schools and community partners supporting CYC. This will involve research, soliciting feedback across the organization and the community, implementation and training.
Major Responsibilities
Data Quality
• Help improve the data quality processes and procedures across all programs
• Assist with the on-going development and refinement of data collection systems
• Assist with entering data and providing periodic data quality checks
School and Partnership Tracking
• Help implement a system for tracking information about schools and community partners (referred to as entities) within the CYC database
• Work with CYC staff to identify useful entity data points to improve outcomes and increase collaboration with schools and community partners
• Create training materials that explain how to create, track and enter information about entities within the CYC database
• Help train staff on entities and provide continuing support for the remaining period of service
• Assist with the creation of entity reports as well as identifying opportunities to further incorporate entities within the existing reporting framework

Qualifications
• Bachelor’s Degree
• Familiarity with databases and Excel preferred
• Analytical skills and a willingness to problem solve
• Some experience with data collection
• Highly organized with strong attention to detail
• Ability to sustain motivation in office environment
• Ability to work as part of a diverse team
• Task oriented and deadline driven
Supervision: The Recruitment and Data Specialist will be based in CYC’s Denver office and will be supervised by the Director of Learning.
AmeriCorps VISTA: This position will be filled by an AmeriCorps*VISTA member. To qualify for AmeriCorps*VISTA, you must be a U.S. citizen, U.S. national, or lawful permanent resident, be team-oriented, and be willing to take on a wide range of challenges. Once chosen for this position, if not already a VISTA member, you must go through the necessary paperwork to become a VISTA member.
Program Benefits: Childcare assistance if eligible, Choice of Education Award ($5,815) or End of Service Stipend ($1,800) upon successful completion of service, Health Coverage, Relocation Assistance, Living Allowance ($1,222/month), Professional Development, Training, Laptop and cellphone to use during your term.
Service Term: November 13, 2018 – November 12, 2019
Hour Requirement: 40 hours per week
