In Washington state employment support is provided through a variety of government offices and public and private partners. Our members serve in state employment offices, nonprofits, and libraries where they focus on improving workplace readiness in communication, technology, and financial literacy and coach diverse community members through the job search process. They also support community members who are disabled, homeless, or living in poverty by connecting them to resources that will help them build a foundation of economic stability.

Service Activities

• Deliver educational presentations and conduct one on one mentoring with job seekers of all ages.
• Conduct outreach to diverse communities.
• Assist customers in accessing community assistance programs and resources.
• Collect and review data on participation and effectiveness of trainings.
• Recruit and manage volunteers.

Washington Service Corps Economic Opportunity Positions serve diverse community members who are struggling with long-term unemployment, face barriers to employment, and lack essential employment skills in areas such as digital literacy and finance.

Position Outcomes

Individuals will improve their job readiness skills and financial knowledge, creating a pathway to sustainable employment and financial stability.
