Description
Our Outreach Center Services department includes our food pantry, front desk, Social Services, and seasonal programs. In this role, you will provide support for each of these areas, which will include a mix of direct service, volunteer support, and behind the scenes coordination. Specific projects will include coordinating our Christmas Together holiday program (matching sponsors with families in need); assisting at the front desk; and facilitating our annual Fan and A/C distribution program. You will also serve in the Choice Food Pantry and in our Welcome Rooms, providing direct assistance to neighbors in need. The versatility in the role makes each day a little different and fosters a wide array of managerial, professional, and personal skills.
This position is part of the Vincentian Volunteers of Cincinnati (VVC) program, a faith-based, year-long, residential service program, providing young adults an opportunity to grow in faith, friendship and service by providing both direct and indirect service to our neighbors in need.
VVC members serve full-time in a unique work placement with the Society of St. Vincent de Paul - Cincinnati. They live together in a house provided by the program in the West End neighborhood of Cincinnati, blocks from SVDP’s Neyer Outreach Center. The program is an 11-month commitment, running late August through late July and provides members with excellent professional experience in a supportive context.
