Description

St. Vincent de Paul provides assistance without regard to race or creed. As a significant number of neighbors requesting assistance from SVDP speak Spanish as their first language, speaking with these neighbors in their native language provides dignity and respect and ensures they are understood and their needs are met. In this position, you will assist the organization by providing interpretation for meetings with neighbors across all of our direct service programs. You will also help to develop bi-lingual promotional materials and assist Conference Vincentians in their communications with Spanish speaking neighbors. This position will be complemented with a full-time position with our Social Services team.

This position is part of the Vincentian Volunteers of Cincinnati (VVC) program, a faith-based, year-long, residential service program, providing young professionals in their twenties an opportunity to grow in faith, friendship and service by giving deeply of themselves to individuals and families in need.

VVC members serve full-time in a unique work placement with the Society of St. Vincent de Paul. They live together in a house provided by the program, in the West End neighborhood of Cincinnati, walking distance from SVDP’s Outreach Center. 100% of program alumni reported experiencing personal and professional growth through VVC.
