Members will have the opportunity to serve in various non-profit organizations and schools working towards reducing ACE (Adverse Childhood Experiences) scores within the community. This can be done by working with at-risk youth in the schools, working with parents and young child, working with the homeless population, or working with individuals with developmental disabilities.

Service Activities

Each site has a specific list of duties that members will perform. Members may end up working with children on a daily basis, help recruit/train volunteers, work on marketing and promotion for their organization, work with family engagement, help at recess, work in a library or museum. There are many activities that the member will be involved in.

Community Need Addressed

Alaska's Capital City Multi-Focus program has opportunities available with at-risk youth, the homeless population, parents and young children, and other local non-profits. You can impact change through working with youth pre-k through 12th grade or through connecting the homeless to medical, behavioral health, or health promotion opportunities or assisting in community inclusion of individuals with developmental disabilities. All opportunities are intended to impact and/or reduce ACE (Adverse Childhood Experiences) scores.
