With the greatest snow on earth, a booming tech industry, the Utah Jazz and Ballet West, the Beehive State has something for everyone. Utah is well known for the generosity of its citizens, whether it be through financial or human capital and has been ranked the #1 most charitable state in the country and #1 in the nation for volunteerism.  This generosity has enriched the lives of citizens across the state in many ways, especially through service and volunteerism.  UServeUtah seeks to harness and focus our unique and invaluable resource – the amazing cultural ethic of service and volunteerism that exists among Utah citizens.

Who are We?

UServeUtah, the Utah Commission on Service and Volunteerism, is the state’s central coordinating body for service and volunteerism.  The Commission is responsible for developing, implementing, and sustaining a vision and culture of civic engagement and national and community service within the state. UServeUtah does this through promoting volunteerism; administering National Service programs; connecting people with opportunities to serve; building organizational capacity for effective volunteer engagement; and participating in strategic initiatives that mobilize volunteers to meet local needs.

Why Serve in Utah

AmeriCorps members in Utah have the opportunity to explore the natural beauty of our State. Utah is home to several state and national parks, recreation areas and world-class ski resorts, most within an hour’s drive of Salt Lake City. Utah boasts a rich performing arts and entertainment scene with the home of Sundance Film Festival, the Utah Shakespeare Festival, Ballet West, and the Utah Symphony | Utah Opera. Our AmeriCorps programs offer something for all interests—whether it be tutoring and mentoring youth, reducing barriers to healthcare access, providing assistance to the homeless,  or protecting, restoring and enhancing the environment.
