Up2Us Sports Coach Across America coaches are dedicated to serving as positive adult role models in the lives of youth within Miami Dade communities. These coaches intentionally connect sports skills to everyday life, encouraging growth and success in youth and themselves. Our coaches are a means to reduce community violence perpetuated by and/or against youth. We inspire youth’s excitement in the learning process and cultivate their leadership skills.
The coach will be responsible for creating a lesson plan for structured, team-orientated/general play games and sports specific/physical education activities during their direct service as either an After-School Sports Coach, a Structured Recess Coach, or a Physical Education Assistant Coach. The coach will lead a team and/or class(es) using Up2Us Sports and sub-site training to cultivate positive team culture and mentor youth. Coach will also spport host site projects and office duties when necessary.

Additionally, the CAA Coach will:
• Encourage participants to gain and develop life skills, knowledge, and techniques through sport,
using lessons learned at Up2Us Sports’ best in class training events
• Perform data collection activities as directed by your CAA Program Manager
• Act as a role model, gaining the respect and trust of the community and youth served
CAA Coaches must complete the following requirements to ensure successful completion of the
program:
• Completion of the required hours of service and training by last day of coach contract
• Attendance at the CAA orientation
• Completion of twice monthly America Learns reflection logs at an 80% level or higher
• Completion of timesheets
• Attendance at a day of service
• Attend/participate in CAA trainings, meetings, and special initiatives
• Attend Coach Training Institute (date to be announced by CAA Program Manager)
Uniform Policy:
Coaches must wear CAA branded t-shirts provided by Up2Us Sports with CAA logo when coaching and
at program sessions and events.

Desired Certifications or Qualifications
• Experience working (coaching) with underserved youth preferred
• Strong verbal and written, responsive and proactive communication skills
• Computer literacy and developed technology skills preferred
• Possesses a positive ‘can-do’ attitude with a desire to learn and develop
• Dependable, organized team player committed to excellence and success
• Must possess reliable transportation
