The Early Childhood Education VISTA will conduct community outreach to increase understanding of the importance of high-quality early childhood education and childcare and how it impacts a child’s development and academic success. The VISTA will learn about the targeted neighborhoods they are working in and what their needs are to build trust and communicate with community leaders and influential organizations to share resources and information. The VISTA will build a strategy to connect targeted populations to high quality early childhood education and childcare programming. They will develop community pop up educational workshops to demonstrate positive early education and childcare development. The VISTA will research and understand LVCC’s strategies and activities on family engagement and document best practices on how this contributes to a child’s educational success. They will create family engagement activities at the targeted centers.
