Description

The Chronic Absenteeism Support VISTA will support Central Elementary School by implementing best practices to reduce chronic absenteeism and eliminate barriers for students and families. The VISTA will engage in the following activities: 1. Create a documented blueprint of each and all interventions employed to address chronic absenteeism, 2. Perform data analysis on a multitude of data sets to help isolate subgroups where interventions for addressing chronic absenteeism could be customized, 3. Become an expert in the Attendance Works Implementation Guide to the Reducing Chronic Absenteeism Toolkit, 4. Research and pilot a Family engagement social network group to address barriers to chronic absenteeism via creating a more welcoming and united climate and culture at Central.
