Texas Conservation Corps' Houston Environmental Action Team (HEAT) is an
AmeriCorps opportunity for young adults focused on community engagement
through inclusive urban conservation in the Houston area.

The Texas Conservation Corps’ Houston Environmental Action Team (HEAT) is a full-time AmeriCorps opportunity for young adults local to the Houston area that focuses on local urban conservation and restoration projects. This crew works locally on a regular schedule, Monday-Friday. 

We highly encourage you to apply if you are LGBTQ+, experiencing homelessness, or are involved with the criminal justice system.

Service Activities

-Help guide crew through day-to-day activities in the field
-Assist in crew member orientation and training
-Track crew progress in the field through paper logs & reports
-Transport crew & equipment in 12 passenger van
-Urban landscaping
-Public land improvement
-Maintain vehicles, tools, and equipment
-Communicate with staff & project partners
