Description
When cyclists race together, they create a ‘peloton’ or group that is able to defy headwinds.
Riders travel much faster as a team than alone. At PelotonU, we believe any student with the will and drive to graduate from college can earn a degree, regardless of geography or economics. When we support each other, we not only learn faster but also achieve much more than we ever could by ourselves.
This VISTA member will work alongside our Director of Advising & Growth as a PelotonU VISTA Recruitment Coordinator; they will be responsible for developing a three-pronged strategy to support the PelotonU student community and drive student success. First, the RC will be the first point of contact for those who are interested in enrolling with or learning more about PelotonU. This will include handling phone calls, texts, and chat/messages on our website or social media. This will also include following up, scheduling the next steps, and ensuring a successful path to enrollment for future students. Second, the RC will build a presence locally visible places to share information with prospective students. Finally, the RC will create a system to track and manage referrals to external nonprofits.
AmeriCorps VISTAs are placed through the Literacy Coalition of Central Texas at service sites across Texas. Each VISTA serves full-time for one year at their placement site with at our partner agencies. They help to improve health services, create and evaluate programs, strengthen community groups, conduct outreach, and much, much more. VISTA members and their service sites create, implement, expand, and improve programs designed to bring individuals and communities out of poverty.
