Description

The Epilepsy Foundation Central & South Texas (EFCST) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit health agency. EFCST was founded in 1993 with the mission to lead the fight to overcome the challenges of living with epilepsy and to accelerate therapies to stop seizures, find cures, and save lives. Our programs and services are designed to help persons with epilepsy reach their full potential and enhance their overall quality of life. As our EFCST Community Development VISTA you will:

- assist in the design and implementation of our biggest yearly fundraisers
- secure donations and research and apply to grants
- cultivate new relationships with donors and volunteers in-person and through social media outreach and engagement
- contribute to our newsletter to ensure our partners stay up to date on our current events
- improve and recruit for our volunteer program

We are looking for a compassionate person with a positive outlook, that will take initiative, and will be comfortable speaking in public to prospective donors/sponsors. Our ideal member is punctual, driven, and precise, and a strong writer with a passion for storytelling. Positions are available in Austin and San Antonio.

Skill areas: Communications; Community Organization; Computers/technology; Fund raising/grant writing; public health; public speaking; writing/editing; general skills; team work. Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. Bilingual Spanish/English preferred but not required.
