Located in Long Island City, Hour Children’s is focused on helping incarcerated and formerly incarcerated women and their children successfully rejoin the community, reunify with their families, and build healthy, independent, and secure lives. To accomplish this, Hour Children provides compassionate and comprehensive services and encourages all to live and interact with dignity and respect.

Service Activities

Volunteer will work in the food pantry, facilitate teen and after school mentoring activities, participate in fundraising events, and assist with the women’s re-entry program services, including mindfulness and career development.

The St Joseph Worker Program also hosts three retreats throughout the service year, covered by the SJW Program, during orientation, mid-year, and end of the service year. The SJW Program also encourages members to engage in networking and assists members in finding appropriate contacts based on their interests.
