Description

The AmeriCorps Education Interventionist (ASPIRE Centers) provides additional support in the after school program setting to enhance the K-5 student’s ability to read, write, speak, and listen in English which allows them to meaningfully access the Bilingual instruction program at school.
The Interventionist works with 1 to 8 students per day over the course of each year via push-in interventions 1:1 or in small groups no larger than eight at a time. This Member has a specific interest in teaching that impacts the lives of recent immigrants and/or refugees applying concepts of service learning and acculturation to maximize the learning experience of the students being served.
