Sewa International’s mission is to serve humanity in distress, aid local communities, run developmental projects for the under-served, and assist people in transformational change through the power of innovation by mobilizing partners, donors, and volunteers.

We accomplish this mission by focusing our efforts towards:

  • About Us
    We specialize in disaster relief and rehabilitation. Our development programs focus on family services; child, tribal and refugee welfare; women empowerment; health; and education. In addition to our work in the US, we have undertaken development projects in Colombia, Guyana, India, Kenya, Pakistan and Sri Lanka.

    We are committed to maximizing the beneficiary impact by stretching every Donor dollar. Our sister organizations across the world, and our volunteers help deliver our projects. With this effective and efficient mechanism, we undertake projects synergistic to our mission below:

    Serving humanity in distress: We specialize in (a) disaster relief and rehabilitation projects, and, in (b) development projects in the areas of health, education, empowerment, and community development.

    Aid local communities: Our US Chapters implement our flagship program the Family Services program, and also the refugee empowerment program.

    Promote volunteerism: We offer volunteering opportuntities such as International Yoga Day, Diwali Food Drive, and Sewa Day. We also offer 10-week structured summer internships: Get Inspired in the US, and, Yuva for Sewa in India and Guyana.

Sewa Houston AmeriCorps Program

A dynamic program that serves underserved, marginalized and otherwise vulnerable communities populated greatly by refugees and recent immigrants, providing English language intervention for K-12 on school campuses and in after school centers, community engagement, and disaster preparedness training and response Hurricanes, Floods and COVID, and everything in between.
