Description

Seeds of Hope is a neighborhood drop-in center located in heart of Biddeford, Maine. For those unfamiliar with life in Maine, it is an extraordinary environment offering a wide variety of experiences. Skiing, snowshoeing, cycling, hiking, birding, fishing, surfing and all manner of beach activities are all easily accessible. Biddeford is a city in a period of dynamic development, transitioning from its roots as a textile manufacturing center to a thriving urban area. This transition is driven by the most youthful population of any city in Maine. Within its boundaries, Biddeford has miles of ocean beaches uncluttered by commercial development. Old Orchard Beach, with its summer seaside amusement park, is only minutes away. Portland, Maine's largest city, with its restaurants and pubs, is a foodie's dream and only a half hour's drive from Biddeford.

This member position will provide direct service to our neighbors (those we serve) by: staffing the Employment Resource Center; offering digital literacy classes; working on-on-one with neighbors in career exploration and employment opportunities, understanding current work culture and expectations, resume writing, job search techniques, and interview prep; volunteer recruitment and training; updating local resource list for appropriate referrals in the community.

Come join your excitement and energy with the Seeds of Hope team and help us make a difference in the lives of those we serve.
