Description

The SCI AmeriCorps program connects youth with relationships, experiences and resources they need to succeed. Our Members support youth achievement through volunteer outreach and capacity building that provides leadership training and community service opportunities for youth.

SCI AmeriCorps is currently looking for members to fill Volunteer Outreach Coordinator (VOC) positions for a 900-hour or 1200-hour service commitment between November 2019 and June 2020. Since 2007, SCI AmeriCorps members have served at various host sites, who are aligned with the mission of Social Capital Inc. The VOC will develop and implement practices for effective volunteer engagement at their host sites by focusing on SCI's core values of relationship development and nurturing local social networks.

HOST SITE OPPORTUNITY ─ City of Everett / SCI Woburn
The SCI AmeriCorps member will:
Focus on positioning the EverettUnited.org web portal as a dynamic resource for increasing volunteerism and civic engagement in the community by updating content regularly and publishing the biweekly EverettUnited e-newsletter; manage associated social media accounts.
Create and distribute marketing materials that encourage families in civic engagement such as resource fairs, arts and cultural events, academic enrichment projects and family service days.
Manage contact information of volunteers, website and e-blast subscribers and other contacts.
Maintain regular communication with key community partners & organizations to identify groups that need volunteers and seek other opportunities for collaboration.
Assist partner organizations with the planning and implementation of major community events.

Commitment to service of local community members with diverse backgrounds
Effective communication skills to conduct community outreach through marketing strategies and civic engagement
Strong project management and organization tools
Achieve goals within a team and independently
Serve Full-time

$1300 - $1300 monthly
