About the Organization:
The Aleutian Pribilof Islands Association (APIA) is an organization that is committed to improving the lives of Unagan/Unagas Alaskans. APIA’s mission is
1. To provide self-sufficiency an independence of the Unangan/Unangas by advocacy, training, technical assistance and economic enhancement
2. To assist in meeting the health, safety and well-being needs of each Unangan/Unangas community
3. To promote, strengthen and ensure the unity of the Unangan
4. To strengthen and preserve Unangax cultural heritage
Your Role:
During the year of service the VISTA member will
1. Create and asses programs using the input from the APIA staff and local communities
2.Work closely with Unangan communities in the region and individuals from the region who have relocated to the urban areas
3. Aid in the development of APIA’s Elder congregate and delivered meal programs, Elder transportation programs and a variety of health promotion and disease prevention efforts to improve the delivery of health care services and health care education to the Elders and stakeholders in the Aleutian and Pribilof Islands communities we serve

$1350 - $1350 monthly
