The AmeriCorps Volunteer Coordinator serves fulltime as the external representative of Reading Partners within the community, leading the charge in recruiting and onboarding volunteer tutors. Volunteer Coordinators also lead in executing community engagement initiatives in the region.
Volunteer Recruitment and Engagement
Lead Reading Partners’ efforts to recruit volunteer tutors in the respective region.

We believe volunteers get results; our program can’t run without our volunteer reading partners! A self-starting individual will thrive best in this role, as Volunteer Coordinators must balance a variety of responsibilities, including partnership research and cultivation to broaden the volunteer base, maximizing existing partnerships, and providing marketing support to the region.
Community Need Addressed
Our Volunteer Coordinators are the reason our organization can serve the thousands of students that it does each year! They learn everything there is to know about the community they serve in, attend community events, and lead presentations to recruit passionate volunteers to serve our students. Our Volunteer Coordinators inform, excite, and engage people in our community to volunteer their time to support students in achieving their literacy goals.
During their year of service, Volunteer Coordinators will have tabled and presented in dozens of locations, provided dozens of tutor orientations, and called hundreds if not thousands of potential volunteers always through the lens of supporting our volunteers to ultimately empower the students they'll tutor.
