Description

The AmeriCorps Site Coordinator is the face of Reading Partners within our reading centers in elementary schools, leading the full-time program coordination, operations, and relationship development at their school. This is an exciting opportunity to serve directly with kids, coach volunteers, build partnerships with faculty and staff, and gain hands-on-experience with a literacy program that works!


The AmeriCorps Literacy Lead is a direct tutoring support within our reading centers, focusing on target students in need of more individualized instruction. This is an exciting opportunity to provide intensive tutoring to kids, support the research and creation of literacy training, and get a hands-on approach to an educational program that works!

STIPEND: As an AmeriCorps member, you’ll receive a living stipend of $11,428. SEGAL EDUCATION AWARD: Upon successful completion of your service term with Reading Partners, you will be awarded a Segal Education Award of $3,047.50. You may earn up to two Education Awards over two service terms. HEALTH CARE COVERAGE: Reading Partners AmeriCorps provides a health care package through Cigna & Summit America, which includes medical, vision, and dental coverage. Monthly premiums are covered by Reading Partners, and coverage is only provided to AmeriCorps members. CHILD CARE BENEFITS: If you qualify, childcare is available during your service term. This benefit is administered by GAP Solutions Inc. – more information can be found at their website at www.americorpschildcare.com. LOAN FORBEARANCE: You may request loan forbearance on qualified federal student loans once you begin you service term. ONGOING PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT: We offer an exciting and dynamic culture, and we commit to investing in and supporting our amazing people to grow their futures with us. The Reading Partners AmeriCorps program provides a robust Program Orientation at the start of each service year, providing AmeriCorps members with the trainings needed to successfully execute their roles. We offer ongoing trainings throughout the year, dedicated towards promoting professional growth and opportunity. HOLIDAYS: Reading Partners AmeriCorps recognizes the following holidays: Labor Day, Thanksgiving, the Friday after Thanksgiving, New Year’s Eve/Day, President’s Day, Memorial Day, and Independence Day. You may be asked to serve on the MLK Day holiday. Reading Partners AmeriCorps members also follow our organizational winter closure, with exact dates announced each year. Closure typically runs from December 24th until the first Monday in January after New Year’s Day.
