Description
AmeriCorps members serving in the American Red Cross's New York State AmeriCorps will focus on providing disaster preparedness education and training to New York State communities through established ARC educational programs. The disaster preparedness educational programs we offer are designed to educate New York Citizens of all ages on how to effectively prepare for emergencies. AmeriCorps members serving in our program will also have the opportunity to respond to disasters within New York State communities. Finally, AmeriCorps members serving in our program will be given the opportunity to learn more about and become directly involved with various other core Disasters Cycle Services operations such as Disaster Response, Mass Care, Disaster Workforce Engagement, Logistics, Information / Planning, and Individual Disaster Care, and other disaster activities to ensure the American Red Cross is able to effectively respond to disasters.
This is a fantastic entry-level opportunity for those interested in working in the Disaster Relief / Emergency Management industries or an opportunity to try something new!
