  • About Us
Raising A Village has started to provide intervention programs and community resources in the area of education through the provision of the Driven 2 Succeed program (D2S). Since its inception, Driven 2 Succeed has served over 500 elementary, middle, and high school students across the District of Columbia through a wide variety of services including classroom residences, in- classroom support, after school homework help, and summer intensives. It has created corporate and government partnerships including Communities in Schools Nation’s Capital, Urban Alliance, The American Experience Foundation, The Pen Faulkner Foundation, and the Department of Education’s Federal Work Study Program.
  • Our Impact
Driven 2 Succeed (D2S) can only achieve its long-term goal of improving education for vulnerable populations and improving school readiness by ensuring the program’s components achieve ambitious, clearly defined goals. Therefore, Raising A Village Foundation and its principal programs are evaluated annually by program data such as attendance, classwork and homework completion rates, as well as surveys of participating educators, community partners, and parents who are asked to assess its efficacy in helping students develop targeted skill sets.
When a student commits to the D2S program, grades increase, disengagement goes down, and one more student is on the pathway to productive citizenship to thrive in school, community, and life.
Attendance rates are an important marker for the success of the Driven 2 Succeed Program. Attendance is important because students are more likely to succeed in academics when they attend school or an academic program consistently. The average attendance rates across all of our sites are no less than 75 percent!
