Oregon Volunteers

Oregon Volunteers is the Oregon Commission for Voluntary Action & Service. Our mission is strengthening our communities by inspiring Oregonians to actively engage, volunteer, and serve. Oregon Volunteers promotes and supports AmeriCorps, Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA), volunteerism, and civic engagement to strengthen Oregon communities.

Service Years in Oregon

Each year in Oregon, about 500 full and part-time AmeriCorps and AmeriCorps VISTA members of all ages and backgrounds are serving communities across the state through local nonprofits, schools, religious organizations and other groups. They are tutoring children, coordinating volunteer programs, providing risk prevention presentations, removing non-native species, performing trail and stream bank restorations and accomplishing other goals to improve our communities.

Why Serve in Oregon?

Volunteering is an integral, prominent and essential part of every day life. Oregon's 36 counties have strong, healthy communities built and sustained through service and public engagement drives government. In exchange for a year of service, AmeriCorps members earn an education award that can be used to pay for college or to pay back qualified student loans.
