Description
Trinity River Mission (TRM), located in sunny Dallas, Texas, is a small, but mighty afterschool nonprofit that provides education and social opportunities that inspire students and their families to dream, believe, and achieve. By Far the largest afterschool nonprofit in West Dallas, TRM uses a whole child, whole family approach to help over 550 under resourced kids in grades K-12 to beat the odds, graduate high school, enroll in post-secondary education, and expand their definition of what Is possible for their futures. With 40.3% of children living below the poverty level, the youth in the area we serve are at high risk for gang involvement, substance abuse, teen pregnancy, and dropping out of school. We are looking to expand our services from K-12 to Pre-K through the second year of post secondary education! To do this, we need a passionate and creative thinker who can help us share this exciting opportunity with our stakeholders, develop innovative and engaging fundraising tactics, and provide support for our current fundraising initiatives. This will include leading the expansion of our monthly giving program and creating a storytelling/success story library that we will be able to draw for years to come. The Donor Relations VISTA will be essential to ensuring we create and implement sustainable fundraising strategies to ensure our growth is maintained long term.
Member Duties : The Donor Relations and Outreach VISTA will serve to improve the capacity of Trinity River Mission by advancing and improving the quality, outreach mechanisms, and communications of our afterschool program. The VISTA will focus on increasing TRM’s presence in the community and will work as an outreach strategist, event coordinator, storyteller, and liaison to donors. The VISTA will play a key role in constructing the foundation and sustainable strategies for this expansion. The VISTA will research and evaluate current volunteer experiences to develop potential retention efforts. Evaluate, research, and develop current and new donor stewardship efforts. Research best practices and evaluate past performance/implementation of TRM’s silent auction to plan a new format for the event. Lastly, the VISTA will create strategic story planning to encompass full impact of TRM programs.
