NextOp located in Houston, Texas is a supporting nonprofit within Combined Arms, Houston’s one stop shop for Veterans transitioning from the military. NextOp’s mission is to recruit, train, and place high-performing middle-enlisted leaders into energy, construction, and healthcare careers. As part of this mission, NextOp must grow our candidate pool by attracting more transitioning service members to Combined Arms and getting them registered with NextOp via the interactive, online assessment and registration tool that links veterans to the veteran service organization that can best assist them. Be part of the solution that ends veteran homelessness and help us get veterans the assistance they need to gain meaningful employment and become active members of the veteran community.

Service Activities

Member Duties : The Veterans Employment VISTA will analyze the registration process via the Combined Arms portal to ensure veteran candidates are getting connected to NextOp for their employment needs. They will ensure the Combined Arms and NextOp CRM’s are easy to navigate and develop a sustainable training and technical assistance program for users. They will also assist with conducting outreach via NextOp’s social media platforms to grow our candidate base.

Community Need Addressed

NextOp helps veterans transition from military to civilian life by assisting them in finding meaningful careers. Thus helps to prevent homelessness and unemployment among veterans in Harris County Texas.

Position Outcomes

NextOp's employment team's goal is to place 450 veterans into career path employment opportunities in 2017. Specifically targeting the post 9/11 generations of veterans (age 25-34) in and returning to the greater Houston area.
