Serve with the Annette Strauss Institute for Civic Life to develop long-term funding sources for K -12 Educational outreach programs that equip Texas youth with the civic skills, knowledge and dispositions necessary to be effective citizens, thus closing the Civic Empowerment Gap in Texas. The VISTA will maintain the donor database by conducting research and analyzing potential donors, as well as cross check and review the current donor database for suitability and conflict of interest. The VISTA will write grant proposals, assist in writing grant reports, and work with the University of Texas' Office of Sponsored projects to ensure all University requirements are met. The VISTA member will serve to cultivate relationships with current and past donors and ensure that proper records are kept for all donor solicitations. The VISTA will identify opportunities for fund raising, manage online fundraising efforts, and assist with the planning of the Institute’s annual fundraiser.
