Description

The Old Sol Alliance, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that leverages the arts to create positive social and environmental impact, seeks one (1) Concert Corps member based in northern New England during the summer of 2018. The Concert Corps member serving with the Old Sol Alliance will coordinate grassroots fundraising and event logistics for Old Sol’s 3rd Annual Summer Serve-a-thon meal packaging service project; lead the recruitment, training, and management of fan volunteers to create positive impact through service; and support the planning of the inaugural More Than Music Festival, which aims to celebrate the collective power of live music, young people, and service to make a difference in the world.

Strong applicants will be friendly, outgoing, energetic and passionate about the environment, service, and live music; have the ability to troubleshoot unforeseen issues, working with the Project Manager (often offsite) to find best solution; be equipped to thoughtfully and thoroughly represent the Old Sol Alliance and all associated organizations at all times while on site; work well independently with minimal supervision; be able to carry and lift gear when necessary (up to 50 pounds); and have access to reliable transportation.

Additional Benefits

Concert Corps members’ compensation and benefits include a $5,000 living stipend over 675 hours of service, paid out weekly (average 45 hours/week x 15 weeks = $333/week). While Concert Corps members are encouraged to serve an average of 45 hours/week between May 20-September 1, 2018, members may coordinate with the Old Sol Alliance to pickup part-time hours anytime between May 1-October 31, 2018 in order to successfully complete their 675-hour service term. Concert Corps members will also receive a national service education award of $2,255.24 (pre-tax) after the successful completion of their 675-hour service term. Other Concert Corps benefits include trainings and other professional development opportunities; real-world job experience in both the nonprofit sector and the music industry; lawn or general admission access to select concerts and festivals; and access to a network of hundreds of thousands of national service alumni.
