NOTRE DAME AMERICORPS (NDA) PURPOSE STATEMENT:
Members assist in education settings to add critical support to learning environments that serve low-income communities. NDA members serve primarily at one of our partner organizations, which include schools and community centers across the cities where we are located. Members assist in classrooms, lead small-group and one-on-one instruction, and coordinate extracurricular activities.

AWEE PURPOSE STATEMENT:
The purpose of this position is to support AWEE staff in all workforce development activities in a limited case management setting while increasing skills and knowledge about supporting individuals in the Arizona community seeking, securing, and retaining employment.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Interview, screen and conduct an assessment of participants to identify barriers to achieving education and employment goals
• Assist staff with determining participants’ interest, education and experience to identify possible placements and develop individual employment plans
• Meet regularly with staff to assess participants while using various techniques to ensure participant is meeting established goals , and provide supportive services when appropriate
• Help prepare participants for job search/placement/hiring
• Assist participants with accessing AWEE and community resources; provide referrals when appropriate
• Research labor market information; industry sector strategy, career pathways, employment and training resources, and job leads for staff
• Manage and support participant follow-up through retention activities
• Record participant services and activities in required database(s) daily
• Assist with job fairs/on-site recruitments/hiring events
• Participate in community engagement activities
• Conduct presentations when needed
• Greet, assist, and triage AWEE visitors
• Attend various meetings and participate in AWEE events
• Assist donors with dropping off donations and assist participants in accessing clothing boutique
• Other duties as assigned
