Description

NDA members support after school programs, receive educational training, support teachers in the classroom, assist in support and development of students, and facilitate school operations directly serving students. Each Service Site varies in its service description. At our after school sites volunteers work to mentor, tutor, and coordinate for at risk students. At our schools, our members serve in classrooms and work with students individually and in small groups. Other service is done with other nonprofits or outreach programs to extend the limits of their programs by providing first hand service and eventually training volunteers in this process. Fulfill obligations to annual Summer Program. At our Wilmington location, members lead 3 to 4 classes per day during the school year, supervise and proctor students during meals, homeroom, recess, field trips, Study Hall and Evening Study, and more.
