Description
Notre Dame AmeriCorps members serving with Ocean Discovery Institute will provide formal and informal science instruction to hundreds of K-12th graders. ODI's school-based initiatives provide 3rd-6th grade students with four consecutive years of exposure to ocean science and scientific literacy through classroom lessons and outdoor laboratory projects led by AmeriCorps members. Additionally, members are involved with after-school and summer programs that are available to interested middle school through college aged youth. Members will also assist with program coordination such as supply management, curriculum development, student management, student support, scheduling, and volunteer communication.
