Description

Throughout the service term the member will be completing many different service activities including physician marketing, providing screenings at community health fairs and presentations at community health centers to increase the ability of JSHC to provide services to the maximum number of people. In addition, the member will provide audiology and speech pathology education and information to the community through health fairs, community screenings and events, and educational presentations. Through a community-based effort, the member will conduct outreach in the community to inform physicians about JSHC available program and services offered. The purpose of outreach efforts is to create awareness of JSHC and the services available by visiting organizations in the community and giving out/sharing information about JSHC and our available programs. The member will also have the opportunity to provide presentations on healthy hearing at health fairs, community meetings and apartment complexes. This will include free hearing screenings, delivery of information to physicians, and other healthcare providers, and in general assist with the implementation of a strong physician marketing plan. The member will visit provider offices on an ongoing basis and provide any necessary information to staff. The member will assist in the preparation and delivery of appropriate items to physicians, schools and community events. Each week the member will review the results and, when appropriate, make changes to either the materials or delivery thereof. The activities in the service description will align with the NHC’s performance measures- Access to Care, Health Education, and Capacity Building.

Living Allowance

$1052 - $1275 monthly

Additional Benefits

For successfully completing the 2018-19 service term, members receive a $5,920.00 education award guaranteed by the National Service Trust. This education can be used to to finance higher education and payment on existing student loans.
