Description

The members will be based in one of three of Erie’s high school-based clinics where they will provide students sexual health education and 1:1 nutrition counseling. Additionally, they will promote the clinic’s services to students and facilitate the mobile vision and dental clinic visits. Finally, the members will participate in health insurance enrollment fairs.

Education Requirements

High School Graduate

Other qualifications, skills, and experience:
• College coursework in health or human services field (Bachelor’s degree preferred)
• Good verbal and written communication
• Proficient computer knowledge, skills, and experience with Microsoft office
• Teaching or experience presenting in front of large groups is a plus
• Public speaking skills
• Cultural competency skills
• The ability to modify the lessons according to audience’s age/cognitive abilities
• Ability to engage students
• Ability to engage teachers and administrative staff to organize health education lessons and health care services
• Must have a desire to work with children and adolescents
• Organizational skills to keep track of attendance, pre and post test data information
• Ability to work effectively with Erie/NHC member team and colleagues
• Self-care and stress management skills
